Dos 4.0 var bara början på en rad stora missar som Microsoft har gjort genom tiderna

Under årens lopp har Microsoft gjort en hel del lyckade drag såsom att samla Word och Excel i Office-paketet, mixa ihop Windows 98 och Windows NT till Windows 2000 och köpa Skype för ofantligt mycket pengar. Självklart har företaget även tabbat sig ett flertal gånger – här är de 13 allra värsta missarna genom tiderna.

Filedrop – copy files in networks without permission hassles

If your computer is connected to a network that multiple PCs are connected to, you sometimes may want to exchange files between those systems. It does not really matter if you own the systems you want to copy files between or if someone else is connected to the network. If you do not want to configure the home network or just connected your PC to a network and do not want to configure sharing options, you may use a program like Filedrop instead for that task.

I do not really print that much anymore on paper, only the occasional contract that I have to sign or other legal documents that I’m required to sign and process. Other than that, I prefer to keep the printer spooler service and printer disabled. Using a virtual printer to convert documents into pdf format on the other hand can be an excellent way to do just that.  The main reasons for doing so are convenience, as you can send documents and information straight from any Windows program supporting print to the virtual printer to convert it and functionality as good solutions offer lots of customization options.

Change boot drive in Windows

I have two Solid State Drives and one platter-based drive connected to my PC. One of the SSDs contains the Windows 7 operating system, the other nothing of importance anymore but the System Reserved partition. Any attempt to disconnect the drive from the system resulted in boot errors due to missing boot information. Since I do not really need that second SSD anymore I decided to find a way to move the System Reserved partition from that drive to my new SSD instead so that it would boot just fine without the second drive.

Outlook fix som får Outlook snabbare

Det finns några Outlook fix för att få Outlook snabbare. Detta gör jag regelbundet eller när Outlook är för långsam. Jag använder en fristående instans av Outlook, alltså ingen MS Exchange och jag har IMAP4 istället för POP3 men oavsett det så rekommenderar jag dessa tips.
