Many have complained about Microsoft's aggressive campaign of persuasion for Windows 10 the upgrades. Some have even argued that the operating system be upgraded against their will – and maybe they have a point.

Last week did Microsoft blow in it and selected Windows 10 as a recommended update for all. Those who have automatic updates turned on has therefore been given an upgrade scheduled – if users do not themselves intervene and actively declines. At the same time updated Microsoft instructions for how to upgrade to the latest operating system, and there is a rare formulation. One that violates all what we learned about how Windows interface works.

Unable to save incoming email password.

The explanation that I found is that ”checksummor” error in Windows settings registry. So it is not an error in the server and it is not the wrong password that is saved in the settings of Outlook, but it is Windows that thinks it is the wrong password.

Allow windows installer service to start in safe mode

msiexec.exe

Sometimes it may be necessary to uninstall an application, but for one reason or another, Windows will not allow this. One approach is to try to uninstall the program in safe mode. The default safe mode does not service ”Windows Installer” turned on, which is needed to uninstall. Here is a description how to set up the system to enable starting the Windows Installer in Safe Mode. The method involves editing the registry and is more for advanced users.

Add links from the Recent Locations, In the Navigation Pane

In the top left hand side or the navigation pane in Windows Explorer is a section called ”Recent locations” or Favourites. (These are not to be confused with Internet Explorer Favorites.) This is a handy list of shortcuts to folders or links that you frequently use and are available for easy access. By default, the, Desktop, Downloaded files and last points are listed.
Add your own shortcuts to the list is very simple. One way is to drag a folder and drop it in the list. Another is to open the Links folder and adding shortcuts where.
